JinSam strives for differentiation in the competitive red ginseng health supplement market by launching JinSamGa, which boasts increased ginsenoside content based on its patented technology of '9 times boiling and nine times steaming.'

Health supplements (hereafter referred to as "health supplements") that promote immune health are gaining more attention due to aging populations and the prevalence of new infectious diseases. Among these, red ginseng is a product of particular interest, and various products are being introduced to the market.

In this context, JinSam has made its mark in the red ginseng market with a distinctive technology.

Leveraging 27 years of technical know-how and investing over 10 billion KRW in research and development for a decade, JinSam acquired 13 patents related to the 9 times boiling and 9 times steaming process for red ginseng maturation and extraction, becoming the first in the world to do so in 2010. This specialty led to the launch of the JinSamGa brand.

According to JinSamGa, their patented technology for the maturation and extraction of red ginseng, known as '9 times boiling and 9 times steaming,' is a process that minimizes the loss of practical components in red ginseng and produces a product that retains these components, even in the roots.

CEO Kim Myung-sam of JinSam explained, "Just as making kimchi stew with freshly made kimchi turns it into cabbage soup, subjecting red ginseng to high heat in an unfermented state results in the loss of ginsenoside components." He further mentioned, "By minimizing the leakage of effective ingredients and removing toxins, JinSamGa contains 5 to 12 times more ginsenoside components than other products."

They have also emphasized that their products do not contain synthetic additives such as flavor enhancers, preservatives, sweeteners, or emulsifiers. They utilize red ginseng powder and diversify their product range, including producing red ginseng soap.

The term "saponin" comes from the Latin word "sapo," which means soap. Just as soap cleanses impurities with foam, saponins (ginsenosides) in red ginseng also cleanse the body of waste products.

JinSam plans to focus more on exports this year. The company gained recognition for its product technology and was selected as a partner for the economic delegation during the President's visit to the UAE in 2023. However, JinSam has not disclosed any details regarding its technology patents to foreign countries as it aims to promote its brand as a product produced in Korea, the home country of Korean ginseng.

CEO Kim Myung-sam stated, "Ironically, not many people are aware that the first export item to the United States was ginseng." He added, "Being located in Busan Haeundae, a strategic point for overseas operations, we aim to restore the pride of Korea, the home country of Korean ginseng, in the overseas market."

They are also determined to enhance domestic sales. JinSam recently opened an office in Seoul and actively promotes its brand through online and offline channels, including in-flight duty-free shops with Air Busan, Busan duty-free shops, Cheongsapo Blue Line Park, and SRT. They plan to open stores in the capital area in the year's first half.
