Let’s open the windows and spring-clean against COVID-19 and fears from it. According to a research team at the University of Greifswald in Germany, coronavirus survived longer than other viruses. It can survive up to 4~9 days on surfaces of glass, plastic, and metal.

■ Cautions for disinfecting your home against COVID-19
▲ Before begin to clean, open the windows for ventilation.
▲ Always wear a mask and disposable gloves before dilute disinfectant agents with water.
▲ Make sure disinfectants do not contact your eyes and do not rub your eyes when spraying it.
▲ Wipe with a dry mop after cleaning with disinfectants.
▲ Dispose of all materials used for disinfection (mask, gloves, cloth).

■ How to disinfect home against COVID-19
▲ When using bleach:
· Bleach 4%: dilute 25mL of bleach 4% with 1,000mL of water
· Bleach 5%: dilute 20mL of bleach 4% with 1,000mL of water
· Spray the dilution on a bathroom sink, drain, toilet bowl, floor, and walls
· If cleaning by spraying a dilute solution is difficult, apply it on a disposable cloth and wipe it off.
· Wipe again with a dry mop unless there’s moisture.
▲ When using alcohol 70%:
· After drawing off alcohol in a sprayer, spray it on a disposable cloth and then wipe surfaces where physical contact occurs often.
· Do not spray at but gently wipe electronic devices, doorknob, light switch, faucet, keyboards, phone, desk, table, chairs, etc.
· Wipe off the things that get a stain first and then again with a dry cloth.
▲ When using vinegar:
· Make a dilution of water and vinegar in the ratio of 3 to 1.
· Spray it on curtains, mattresses, fabric sofa, clothes, and beddings.
· Use a dry cloth to wipe it off. Using paper or tissue will leave a trace!
· Constantly spray it for indoor air purification.
