Live surgery workshop scheduled at Sakra World Hospital, India.
In India, hard times continued as the daily average number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 exceeded 300,000 to 400,000 in the first half of this year. However, the economy is expected to be back on track in a few years, with the daily average number of confirmed cases decreasing to 30,000 to 40,000 in the second half of the year.
Meril World Healthcare also decided to import three additional CUVIS-joints, which had been suspended in the first half of this year. The recent imported CUVIS-joints are expected to be supplied to general hospitals located in large cities of India, such as Mumbai and Delhi.
Also, a Bilateral TKA live surgery workshop using CUVIS-joints was held August 21 at Sakra World Hospital in India.
At Sakra World Hospital, which hosted the workshop, Dr. Neeraj Adkar has performed more than 2,000 cases of artificial joint robotic surgeries and more than 55 cases using CUVIS-joints. He plans to introduce the advantages of CUVIS-joint to the Indian medical market in a more vivid way through live surgery.
"Early this year, 100 cases of artificial joint robotic surgeries were performed at Sakra World Hospital in India, where CUVIS-joints were installed, and the record of 200 cases are expected to be achieved depending on the recovery from recent surgeries. CUREXO will use the additional supply to India as a stepping stone to advance into foreign markets," a CUREXO official said.
