The international academic conference 'KOREADERMA 2023' has just commenced

During the opening ceremony, President Chang-Keun Oh of the Association of Korean Dermatologists delivered a welcome speech, wishing for the successful conclusion of the 'KOREADERMA 2023' conference.

As we finally emerge from the long tunnel of the COVID-19 pandemic, the beauty market is once again ablaze with enthusiasm as we can fully face each other's faces. A vibrant international academic platform demonstrating high interest and enthusiasm has opened wide.

On the 23rd, the Association of Korean Dermatologists successfully raised the curtain on the international academic conference 'KOREADERMA 2023' at The K Hotel Seoul.

Since 2019, the Association of Korean Dermatologists has been hosting KOREADERMA annually in South Korea, actively promoting the exchange of medical knowledge and experiences in dermatological treatments with various countries worldwide and showcasing Korea's excellent medical technologies.

This year's KOREADERMA is being held in person, marking the first fully face-to-face conference after a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic. It will take place for a total of three days, concluding on the 25th. Particularly on the 23rd and 24th, two days, there will be 50 sessions encompassing anti-aging and various skin disorders, featuring a total of 200 lectures. Distinguished international scholars from around the world and domestic experts representing Korea will deliver presentations introducing pioneering beauty procedures conducted in Korea. Additionally, skincare and pharmaceutical companies will participate in booths to actively promote their products and engage in lively discussions with experts.

During the opening ceremony, President Chang-Keun Oh of the Association of Korean Dermatologists stated, "KOREADERMA provides a platform for domestic and international scholars to gather and exchange the latest insights. It is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the advancement of the global beauty industry and showcase the leading position of the Korean skincare field. I hope that this event will solidify the competitiveness of K-Beauty and serve as a meaningful time for our members to enhance their capabilities."

Domestic and international scholars delivered lectures on a variety of topics, ranging from anti-aging procedures such as botulinum toxin and fillers, laser treatments, body and facial contouring, and skin boosters to the treatment of various skin conditions like acne, hyperpigmentation, and vitiligo. They generously shared their clinical experiences and expertise with the audience.

During the botulinum toxin and fillers session, Director Je-Young Park from Apgujeong Oracle Dermatology delivered a lecture on "Comprehensive Forehead Filler Techniques and Anatomical Knowledge of Botulinum Toxin." With a wealth of clinical experience in the field, Director Park shared insights on the techniques, tips, and safety precautions practitioners should consider for filler and botulinum toxin injections. The audience responded with great enthusiasm to the valuable information provided.

Dr. Jane Yoo, a dermatologist from the United States, delivered a lecture on the topic of "Revitalizing Treatments Using Needle-Free Injector (MiraJet)."

MiraJet is a laser-guided drug delivery device developed by the Korean company JSK Biomed, which allows for uniform drug injection into the skin without using needles. It is the world's first of its kind, successfully commercialized. As a global key opinion leader for JSK Biomed, Dr. Jane Yoo focused the audience's attention by providing a detailed introduction to the principles of MiraJet and showcasing the revitalizing treatment effects observed in clinical settings.

Director Jung Min Bae highlighted the Pallas laser from LaserOptek, known for its effectiveness in treating localized and facial vitiligo while minimizing UV exposure to healthy skin. He provided detailed information on the observed effects and precautions during the procedure and captured the attention of international scholars attending the session.

As dermatologists gathered in one place worldwide, the 'What's HOT in Korea' session garnered the most intense interest and attention.

The session featured prominent dermatologists from South Korea, including Director Seung Hoon Kang from Four Seasons Dermatology, Director Hongseok Kim from VOS Dermatology, Director Ha Eun Lee from Fore Dermatology, and Director Wooseok Koh from JMO Dermatology. They took the stage as speakers, actively promoting the skincare trends and advanced medical technologies in South Korea. The intense atmosphere in the lecture hall, with seats being insufficient, allowed attendees to witness the true value of K-Beauty firsthand vividly.

KOREADERMA will continue to generate intense excitement tomorrow (the 24th). Particularly, as the foundational lectures held today set the stage for more advanced practical studies, it is expected to be a time for dermatologists to enhance their skills and exchange a broader range of cutting-edge insights, bearing fruitful results.

In addition, on the 25th, the 25th Spring Academic Conference of the Association of Korean Dermatologists will be held. This academic conference will feature lectures that delve deeper into topics such as pigmented disorders, acne, and anti-aging procedures, covering important existing content and the evolving field of high-frequency systems and equipment. There will also be discussions on essential information dermatologists need to know, such as fluid therapy and sedation, aiming to enhance awareness of patient safety further and foster knowledge sharing.
